Default Early 2002 Sportsman 700 Oil Pressure Switch

I noticed that in the 2002 owners manual on page 53, there is a description that some 2002 Sportsman 700 ATVs were produced without an oil pressure switch as standard equipment. Mine does not have the sensor. Did futher investigation and found that in the pod/speedometer connector pin 10 (40 pur/y) has a wire in it. If I bought the oil pressure sensor and installed in the correct location and plugged it in to the 40 pup/y wire would it work. I will try to scan that page and post.
