I have a 00 TBlazer, and the chain is stretched right out after only a few months(since may) I e-mailed polaris and asked if stretch was covered under the one year chain warranty, and they said(about a month later, mind you) that only breakage was. Now, mine's just about out of adjustment, and was wondering if there was any way to snap a chain and make it look good instead of it looking like a hammer-and-chisel job. What if I cinched it up real tight and continueasly jumped it? Would that ruin a sprocket? I also fear damage to the tranny. How about using it for a tug-o-war chain between two pick-ups? Any good ideas to break this and have it covered under warranty? Thanks in advance.........and please don't call my dealer

Just buy a chain, there not that expensive. You may end up damaging your machine for something worth less than $100.

Don't talk to Polaris big-cheeses, they don't care about you. Take your worn-out chain to the dealership and they should replace it. They did for me, no questions asked. But, they said they would not do it again. Also, they are not that expensive. Did you lube it often enough or did you ride it a lot? It makes a big differece.

I've always kept the chain adjusted and well-lubed(w/ klotz chain lube), but its stretched right out. And it also has a tight spot, so when adjusting, I hafta find a happy medium. Just right in one spot is way to tight in another, and vice versa. I've been lookin at sprockets and chains on the internet, and think I might try a D.I.D. chain, and get a lower tooth rear sprocket for a little top-end. But I'm gonna take my quad down and see if they won't replace the chain like it is, just to have a spare......

I would buy a chain-breaker, they're about $20, you'll need one sooner or later anyway, and cut the chain in half, then return it to your dealer for a new one. I bought a DID Gold chain about six months ago, put about fifty hours on it, and haven't had to adjust it once, yet.

I would talk to your dealer. Chain stretch generally is not covered under warranty unless it is very severe. However, when you say it has a tight spot, that tells me something is defective. A chain should wear evenly down it's entire length.

PS Do NOT overtighten the chain and go over a large jump. You may crack the transmission case before the chain breaks.
