Hi
New to the forum and new to the sport. I recently bought this atv for my daughter and worked great around the yard. Took it to the trails and after about 4 miles it started dying and would get harder to start unitl it no longer would start.
Towed it back to the trailer and after loading it I tried to start it and it fired right up.
The plug looked good, had fuel and spark. Any ideas?
Thanks

was the starter working ok? you need 3 things to run an engine. compression. spark. and promer fuel/air mix. you can try cleaning the carb out, mabe some trash clogged it up? but sounds more like a spark problem...
dose it have the correct plug in it? check the type with recomendations. if its not that its something els electrical. the AC's had/have that type of problem the bad part is it could be a laundry list of things...CDI, stator, regulator, rectifier, or in an extreme case a burnt valve...
would also be a good idea to do a valve adjustment!

I have two 06 Hawkeyes for my kids. They are great bikes for kids as they are stable and smooth riding. The problem that you describe sounds like what we had going with both of them. The carb jetting is an issue with them. Doa search on this forum and you will find several discussions.
These bikes have performed flawlessly witht he exception of the jets. Check if it is under the recall for the steering assembly

Thanks for the help. You guys are fast.
I think it's a carb problem but it runs fine until we go about 4 - 5 miles then dies. If we let it sit for 45 min then it cranks right up and run flawless for another 4-5 miles.
I will check with the dealer for updates and or recalls.
