Hey, I just bought my 10yo a 08 Phoenix200. Having a lot of problems with burning up the drive belt. From what a dealership told me, the quad is really under powered to hit the dunes for my kid. Does anyone have some info on what performance upgrades that I can do to this to give it more power. Or should I consider buying a bigger quad.

Might want to look into a clutch kit for your PHX200. IMO...a 200 is plenty for a 10yr old (and even more)...so adding more HP or power might not be the best solution. However...a clutch kit would help keep the belt from slipping...and give a sense of more power in the right rpm range.

Hope more folks chime in...and offer where to find a good clutch kit.

Good luck...

Thanks, for the recommendation. I was thinking of working with the clutch springs, exhaust and carboration. You're right I think the 200 is powerful enough for my 10yo, it seems when we are down in Oregon on the dunes she is having problems powering up the small dunes, she is running rear paddles on it. Any other suggestions?
