Magnum 325 wont start. Please help
#1
last week the oil tube next to the dip stick broke and all the oil came out without me knowing, then it shut down. The atv was plowing snow so it was only going a few mph. I put a new pipe on and filled it up with oil then tryed to start it and it wont start. It seems like its getting compression and it even back fired while trying to start it. Ive pulled the carb and cleaned it because there was some oil in the air box. But still no go. When i try to start it it sounded like it wasnt getting any fuel. I check the gas flow and it seems fine but when i throttle it while trying to start it donsent sound like its getting fuel. the switch gear indication plug broke off as well during the repairs and now it sounds like it getting some fuel but still wont start. will the gear switch indicator keep it from starting if its not hooked up? Ive checked spark and its good. whats so confusing is why it backfired. i would think if it did that then the internals should be ok. not sure what to do next. hopefully someone has some ideas.
Thanks

when everything was working did you have to have it in neutral when starting or could it be started in any gear?
i would definatly do a compression check because it doesnt take long for dry rings to wear and cause loss of compression
