Default Polaris 800 Tranny Freezing up

I can't find anything on this topic using the search so here it goes. I have an 08 Polaris 800 EFI. When the temp gets below freezing I cannot shift the transmission. If I put a hair dryer on the case where the shift shaft goes into the upper part of the tranny it will let go in about ten minutes. Any suggestions or experiences with theis problem would be a greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Mark

Bring it to the dealer, this is a warranty issue even if you are out of warranty they should do something to help you out. I have run mine at -40F and no problems.

I would think there is water behind the cover that the shift shaft goes through. If you want to pull it off be carefull. There are a bunch of parts in there that could fall out while removing the cover.

Thank you for the responses. I have been in touch with the dealer and it was suggested to change the gearcase oil first, then delve deeper. Will post with updates.

Thank you
Mark
