Was it running recently? To test for spark, take the sparkplug out and connect it to the sparkplug wire. Hold the plug with a pair of insulated pliers and touch the plug electrode to the engine. Have a buddy pull the starter and look for a spark on the end of the sparkplug where the gap is. There should be a nice blue spark that is fairly easy to see in daylight and very easy to see in the dark. Stay away from the spark, it will light your @ss up!
While you got the plug out and a buddy, you can test for compression by putting your finger over the sparkplug hole and get your buddy to pull the starter and it should blow your finger off of the hole. This is a cheap easy way to determine if you have compression, but the right way is to get a compression gauge. You also need fuel and your timing has to be right for the engine to run.

Ok sory for delay in follow up but ive been away. Ok still no start. I have a good blue spark on plug, gas and compession. I dont know how to check timing short of tearing it appart any advice on checking the timeing, or have any other thoughts or suggestions.
