or is it just the top of the bar to the bottom.

example. the universal mount says it works on bars up to one inch in diameter. do i take the tape measure and measure all the way around the bar or just the top to the bottom?

 

just the width per say. it says <div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>one inch in diameter</end quote></div> diameter is the distance across a circle. circumference is the distance around a circle

 

been so long since calc./geometry etc.
