AC 650 V2 Volt light
#1
Hi All,
I'm new to the sight but have been riding for 10 years. I have a 05 AC 400 that I love and haven't had a single problem with. I recently ran across an 06 AC 650 4x4 V2 for sale at a price I couldn't resist. It has 112 miles on it and the belt light was on. I resolved that issue by installing a Dynatek CDI but now the display is flashing "volt" and I don't know the cause of this particular issue. Here is what I know so far. The bike will crank and try to fire but won't start and run. I thought it might be the battery so I hooked it up to a charger and let it charge overnight...btw the battery shows good on the meter. The next day I removed the battery charger and tried to crank the bike with the same result so just for kicks I put the battery charger back on the terminals, turned it on and tried to crank the bike. It started right up and idled like a champ. Here's the kicker though...I remove the charger cables and the bike dies immediately. Does anyone have any ideas on this issue. I've ordered the service manual for the bike so I can have it handy when working on my new ride but I thought I'd see if anyone here has run across this issue before.

Racer, are you sure your battery is ok. It may register as being fully charged but could fail as soon as power is drawn from it. Some of the better chargers can actually test the battery by drawing power from it. You may want to look at that.
