400EX

K', here's what I got...
02' 400EX w/ a stage 2 dynojet kit. I run without the lid on the airbox, therefore, when I ride in snow, any snow that is "floating" from the back wheels can be sucked up.
I was out today, in about 20 degree weather, and everything was good...except for when there came a point in which any fuel supplied from the throttle at about 1/8th of the throttle, would cause the engine to flood and die.
Opened up the seat/fenders, and there is a good bit of snow on top of the air filter, along with a coating on the box itself. I've got a Pro Comp foam filter w/ a prefilter, but this doesn't seem to be enough. I do not want to put the stock airbox cover back on, for the loss of performance would be too great.
Is there a airbox cover/filter, that still lets air pass though without snow or other loose particles pass through? Something like what K&N's prefilters look like?
Are there any other ideas for the problem?
Have you ever had this similar problem before?
It may be a stupid question, and an easy fix, but, it's always good to hear the input of fellow riders and there setups and personal experience.
Thanks, B.J.

EHS Racing airbox lid, with Outerwears cover. The snow should pack up on the Outerwears and not enter the airbox. Should be real easy to clean off.
Even better, it will help keep larger dirt particles out of your airbox all the time.

I have run outerwears on my quad that slip over the foam filter like a shower cap.
On my modified mountain sleds, I run the foam carb filters with outerwears over them without issue, also
