I'm going to be picking up a 2007 Sportsman 800 Stealth and was curious what winches you guys have. Also, I'd like to know where you got them. How about mounting plates? Thanks for the read!

Yeah, I was leaning towards Warn.

 

Think of doing the XT as they have sythetic rop on that model. Synthetic is the way to go!

 

Ok, cool. Any recomended vendors to purchase a winch and mount?

 

Got mine from Rockymountainatv.com (winch and brkt. If you google Rockymountainatv coopons you can usualy save even more!

 

I'd go for ebay, they're much cheaper, you can get the arctic cat Warn 3,000 lb RT, the only difference from the regular, is that it has an arctic cat stick on it, you can get a synthetic rope and the AC winch for less than $350, which is a steal IMO
also KFI mount are good from what I hear
Also your bike is prewired for a winch, the 2 hot wires, are under the right front fender, with a plastice cover that say winch wires right on it, and then you need to hook the hot (red wire) under the left rear fender with the yellow shrink tube over it to the posotive terminal of the battery, there is a metal shield under the right front fender for mounting the contactor to
