scrambler 500 4x4 problems

Default scrambler 500 4x4 problems

i just bought a 2000 scrambler 500 4x4 i was told everything was fine til i rode it yesturday. when i was riding it i wasn't doing good in two wheel so i stopped put it in 4x4 and only three tires were turning then both kicked in then nothing both stopped. now i took it out 4x4 and i turn sharp and spin the tires one of the fronts kicks in. anybody out there have any ideas what could be wrong?

First welcome to the forum!
On your 4x4 problem try changing the hub fluid.It may take a few changes to get it to clean up.Next it is a good idea to invest in a service manual

ok i took aparta my hubs to find out on one side i have a bearing that is tore apart inside of there. i cleaned everything up and have new wheel and strut bearings on the way just want to know how to take out the front drive shafts so i can get the old bearing and race out thanks

Knock out the roll pin on the differential u joint

ok got the pins out took out the old races and bearings. from the looks of this machine i need to check it all over before i go anywhere with it. i want to change the oil in front dif but not sure how or what to use to fill back up

Use Polaris front dif fluid.Drain it underneath

i'm really glad i found this website you have been very helpful. this is the first polaris i have owned my girlfriend owns a 03 trailblazer 250 but been a very good machine no problems but now i have one of course it's going to break on me. i have an 88 yam warrior nothing but problems for me everytime i ride i swear i have to fix it afterwards. but again thank you for all of the help where do i refill it at?

You can see the fill cap on the upper part of it

ok i got it all put back together and well its a 3 wheel drive still. any ideas i switched the wires around and it still works the good side so i think i have power

Check or change the armature plate that is the main problem most the time.Be sure your gap is correct too.
