My fan motor was not working so I thought this was the problem, so I hard wired the motor and it now works, but the bike is still overheating. The fluid is coming out of a small hose located behind the pull start rode. I think that might be the water pumb assembly. Does anyone know what might be wrong now. Thanks, Bob

Sounds like w/p seals and bearing out,allowing coolant into counter balancer cavity and pumping out vent tube.

 

I guess that is something that is real bad? OPT, thanks for all of your help. I am really new at this and bought this thing hoping that it was still in good shape. Seems like I might have gotten the bad end of the deal.

 

Better if you have a manual as there are critical items such as not blocking oil hole in water pump housing when installing seals and bearing,plus not one of my more pleasant jobs to do! BUT dont let me discourage you, just takes a little time to do. Recoil,stator,inner cover has to come off to access w/pump.

 

OPT, I do have a manual and I appreciate all of your help. I just wish that when I test drove this thing, it would have overheated for me then. Thanks and I am sure there will be more questions as I go along. Bob

 

I JUST HAD A 92 REBUILT LAST SPRING FOR SAME PROBLEM..THERE IS A 100 DOLLAR SHAFT THAT THE SEALS IN THE WATER PUMP LEAK..RUST LET WATER IN THE BOTTOM END AND BASICALLY RUIN IT ALL CHECK YOUR DEALER THEY ARE VERY FAMILER WITH THIS EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM SORRY

 

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like my good deal just turned into a nightmare. I just wish it would have overheated when I was test running it. I waited about a week after I bought the thing. Bob
