Raise that dern backend up on that Rancher 420
#1
I actually considered few different IRS models, but I didnt want to spend the extra cash for an atv that had IRS, and I chose the Rancher 420 ES 4x4, so now I thinking atleast a small improvement on rear differental height would be in order. I dont want to kill my performance, but I'm considering uping the front/rear tire size to 25", but not sure if I want to invest in different wheels. I got prices for 25" Swamplites, for the OEM wheels for around $330 (not mounted)
I'm interested in hearing how others improved there clearance, the costs involved, and changes it made to the handling as looks (of course this one is subjective)

The only aftermarket tires I know that fit the stock rim on the 420 11" on the back are Interco Super Swamper TSL Vampire 25-12-11 rear and front 25-10-12 It will be perfect for what you want with the stock rims!

I paid $590 Free shipping and free mounted, a packaged deal. I bought the 26" Swamplite Front 26-10-12 Rear 26-12-12 with ITP S112. My friend bought the 27" packaged deal same as mine but 27" Swamplite for $610 or $612.

Did your friend also have the Rancher 420? If so, did you get to compare the differences between the two ATVs?
I guessing that I got a good price quoted at $320 for 25" Swamplites then?

Nahh they fit perfect, the Rancher will fit Up to 27" with no rubbing issue. Also I wish I had bought the 27" Swamplite!!! Some say 28" fit but that's pushing it for me and my limit in tire size is 27". Yup aluminum rims they are made by ITP SS112. Heres a pic and the website I bought them from>>> http://www.kgmotorcycletires.com/images/itpss112.jpg

The 25" Tires that I was quoted were Swamp Fox's
I cant help to think 27 inch is too much myself, losing too much handling and power, But I really have no experience to base that on

Its perfect for me! lol but ya you will feel some loss in power with 26" or 27" and Up no dought about it but handling wise not much of a difference or very little in my opinion. The 420 has power to turn them and some people Big time Mudders install 30" and 32" HL Outlaw Tires on them but that also takes a gear reduction to turn those. Its all about your riding condition. Me its 27" for ground clearance and 80% Mudding and 20% trail riding. 25", 26" or 27" will be perfect for you with no rubbing issue.
