Hello, im new here and im looking for some info on my 05 sp 500. Its not charging the batt. thats all its not doing ,runs great, everything works till the batt runs down.i put it in diog mode and throttle it up the volts at 12 on fresh charge.i've looked for shorts , checked the stator, un hooked plugs ,elect contact spray cleaned every connection i could find ,re-digreased them pluged all back. tested power going in to ECM =good, power out, some wires 12vlts some nothing... at the batt, while running 12.8 then drops. i ordered a new ECM is this the right dirrection? if so is there anything i need to do before just plugging in a new ECM?i dont want to blow the new part. thanks for any help you can give.

Think you got it right! New ecm will be silver color updated version which should solve your problem! Has complete instructions,BUT I would let dealer warranty parts and installation and not pay for it!! Polaris will take care of ot! AT LEST everyone that has cone in the door they have for me, bought from us ,or not, etended warranty or not DOESN"T matter! This a SAFTEY recall. If local dealer tries to sell you one,INSIST on Warranty repair at no cost! Good luck

it has been updated already, the ECM in it now is silver ,about 3yrs ago. i just ordered it from a local shop ,oem part.just wanted to see if there is another part that should go with it, like what is the module resistor(#9 on scam ) on top of the motor case that plugs into the loom? im the warranty now.....i called and they all told me that the updated one was out of warranty, i would have to pay the min shop fees if polaris wouldnt cover it, $93.00, the new part is $110.00 otd. thanks mike.

Is this an older battery? has it been load tested? If battery is new and load charges good (Autozone, etc can load test it) If checks out good then its possible the ecm is bad, resistor shouldnt be causing charging problem. Havent had any updated ecms go out yet,but any thing possible on electrical.
