Default So. Calif.......

I got a call from Honda a couple weeks ago, and they asked me if I was willing to evaluate a new model (at some place called Rhinoland????) in Temecula, next weekend (2/28 or 3/1).

Of couse I am always glad to see what might be coming in the pipeline. They made an appointment for a day and time, and said they would get back to me to confirm, both by email and snail mail. But....I have not heard anything more from them since!

Did anybody else get a call like this??? I hate to commit part of my weekend, if this thing has been cancelled off or something.....

Very sure it was genuine! If it had been a trick, they would have gotten back to me right away, and sent me down to Temecula for nothing.....just for laughs.

I will call Honda corporate in Torance, if I don't hear from someone by mid week. I'm not going to miss an Ocotillo trip this weekend, if they can't get back to me in a timely manner.

Be sure to tell them to put a low range on the Rincon...

My feeling is that this is going to be some kind of utility. They had me answer a lot of questions about my Rancher 420.

I want some truely dirt worthy dual-sport dirt bikes, ala the KTM EXC's and Yamaha WR250R. That and an updated TRX450R. And, maybe a sporty 4wd...kind of the Wolverine idea, but done better.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have the ear of someone with control of what Honda produces... especially if I could take them to some real technical stuff.

Also tell them to throw the 700x motor in the 400ex,that will get some buyers.

Finally heard from them. It is at Rynoland, Ryan Hughes training facility and track, in Anza.

Sounds like they want your input on a new model, and not so much on exsisting models then. Thats going to make it much easier.
