snow plow

There are only 2 brands that are common, Moose and Cycle Country. I can't speak for the Cycle Country but I've had nothing but problems with my Moose plow in only one season of use. Every thing from broken welds in the pivot assembly to broken bolts on the cutting edge. On either brand the cost of the plow and frame is around $350. The real cost is in the lift system. Are you going to use a winch or a manual lift? In any case I wouldn't go cheap, it will only cost you in the long run!

I have a 60" MOOSE County Plow and have only had one small problem. I broke off one skid, which was replaced by MOOSE. They sent me 2 new skids that are much heavier then the originals "FREE OF CHARGE" including UPS shipping. None of these plows are designed to plow any faster then 5mph so if welds are breaking I would suggest maybe you are pushing the plow past it's capabilities. To date we have had over 5 ft of snow this season.

My breakdowns have typically been while plowing sidewalks at slow speeds. No problems at all clearing my parking lot and piling snow. I did have to replace the stops that keep the blade from tipping to far back though. It would help if the snow wouldn't come down a foot at a time!
