All froze up!!!

Question, My atv is all iced up underneath, in and around the suspension and frame from the last time I plowed. Has'nt snowed here for quite awhile and this is the first winter my atv has been parked in an unheated garage. I'm nervous next time I use it I risk tearing cv boots or binding up something. I tried to knock some off, but it's solid. Trying to thaw it out with a knipco type heater first would be smart, but not an option for now. Any opinions/comments???

Mine has been frozen up since the beginning of the winter and was all last winter. All it gets used during winter months is to push snow and it is parked in an unheated garage. Never had a problem with boots.
Actually, ice forms a protective structure around the boots. I believe more boots get damaged by the people trying to break away the packed snow with improvised ice picks than by the snow/ice itself.
Just my observations.

mine was froze so bad this winter i couldnt see the rear axles and i still rode it quite often and had no problems. i would agree with mikka about damaging boots trying to remove the snow

yeh..........I would recommend getting that ice off before riding. Theres no telling how far that ice is packed up in the CV's/strut housing. Ice can be stronger than you think. If you get a piece of ice that breaks off and gets lodged between the ice block and the boot - the boot will rip not the ice.
I had mine packed full off ice before and I couldnt get the quad to go forward or reverse. It's allot of work to get the ice out but you should do it.
Everytime you get snow packed you should clean out the snow best you can before it turns to ice. Then you dont have to worry

When mine gets frooze up plowing i just heave salt on it. Then wash it off after im done. Theres no more rust on anything after winter than there is befor winter. My paint has held up great on mine so far. Hell the paint on my frame and suspension is the only thing that is still nice or working on mine.

Ya, maybe I'll take my heat gun and try to melt it away from the boots. I will for sure now take the time to clean out the snow underneath from now on. Maybe a faster way to get it off would be to spray some deicer spray on it???? Thanks for all replies.
