When my Raptor was bone stock I raced a DS that was stock. Raptor will beat it for the first 4 gears, but the DS beat me on the big end by about 3 mph.Now I have full exhaust, air filter, jetting and 14 tooth front sprocket. DS has Greydon pipe, K@N, bigger carb, jetting, and different sprockets(not sure what tooth he runs though). Now the Raptor beats it through the gears all the way to 5th then they stick pretty close, its just that the DS is about 10ft behind me now.But dont believe the hype, the DS is a strong quad, it is just to heavy, but dont underestimate one that has the same mods that a Raptor does.

I have raced one DS650 when i had a 13t sprocket on my Raptor and I would pull way a head at the begging and get good ebough lead to beat him all the way. The DS is closer than any other stock quad thjough. The race was about 700-800feet .

I have NEVER even seen a ds anywhere we ride let alone race one. I'm not so sure that the ds even exists in Ohio so far.

Today I went riding on My Raptor and raced a DS650. I have a 12t sprocket that slows me down quite a bit on top end, but helps a little low end. We raceds several tims and it all depended on who got the better start. A few times when we both got good starts I would pull way ahead then on top he would catch up b/ of his better top end since I have the 12T sprocket. The DS650 is a awesome quad, just too big. Hope Bombardier learns form their mistakes.

to big? naw, why you think mods are made to make the Raptor as big as a DS? They could make mods to make a DS smaller!
Bigger more stable for baja type racing, smaller better for woods & MX racing.
Depends on what matters most to you.
