92 trailboss dies off at top end
#1
Any one ever seen this problem? My 92 350 L trailboss luggs right off when it is warm, under load, and you peg the throttle. If you let up on the throttle it regains power. I was thinking coil but my local dealer said they have never ever replaced a polaris coil, to me it sounds like it loses spark but he was thinking that the float bowl was emptying at full throttle. But if you leave it pegged it just coastes to a stop. The kicker is he said you should not drive a 2 cycle when it is cold out unless you are constantly running the throttle up and down? Am I missing something? Started riding snowmobiles in 1969 and never heard of such a thing? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

as you already know thats the stupids thing a dealer could say about a 2 stroke. your now saying if you hold it w.o.t that it will just roll to a stop as in the bike is not running, stalls w/ no engine running?? if the bike was to have no spark(meaning if it stalls,no engine running) then if a coil ws bad it would not want to start right back up. does this bike run good other then only when you hold it W.o.t? if this is only a issue that your having on full throttle, it seems more likely to be a fuel (lack of) issue.

if you lost spark, it would just stall and not restart until the coil cools down. it does sound like what stendori said, lack of fuel. possible float level too low.

Yes thats pretty much what i'm saying. What throws me off is if you let up on the throttle it comes right back, seems only to do it when its at operating temp...so it seems I was thinking coil breaking down after it heats up under load but all other advice is pointing to fuel so as soon as the temp rises above 10 freaking degrees I'l try and head out and explore a lack of fuel option thanks!
