Polaris HD srpings

All,
Since I added the front HD springs to my SP800, already
I notice it is easy to steer and when I put the plow on
it didn't even budge with weighing it down, like before. -- GREAT
IMPROVEMENT!
But I was curious now, from stock the front weight capacity
was 90lbs. Have I increased my weight capacity and if so
how much can I now LOAD on the front without over stressing
other parts, etc.?
Thanks for the info.

Okay that is what I was thinking, I'd thought it was 120lbs.
Now that would include weight in the cargo box and what you
can put on top, right? Does the weight of my front WARN winch
factor into that or is it:
Winch installed, nothing in front cargo box, you can load 120lbs
(cargo box inside plus on top of rack)?
Thanks for the help!

I am not positive on this, but I believe the 90# or 128# or whatever is the Spring Rate. Usually expressed as 128# of pressure to compress the spring 1" either freeform or from a standard compressed length.
That said if all other factors were equal and you had an initial weight capacity on the front box of 100# with a 90# spring pair. Then going to a 128# spring pair could give you an additional 76# of carrying capacity. However, there are other factors to consider.
Frame Capacity, Box structure capacity, etc.
Also, The rated capacity as stated by Polaris may be paraphrased with 100lbs capacity "... while maintaining a spring travel distance of ....inches" If that were in the factor then the 128# springs while giving you 1" of lift or so could also be taken into the equation.
So all of that speaks to maybe you could put another 50lbs of gear up there, but also our weight contributes to the capacity especially if we are outside the "norm" plus or minus.
May be speaking out of turn, but that is what I remember about spring ratings in lbs.

I agree with BigBros. It's not just the springs that limit capacity - you must take into consideration the frame, the front rack, stability, etc...
Think about it this way, the sticker doesnt say "rated for 90lbs without a winch, 60lbs with a winch"
I also think that the rating is a way of covering the azzes by telling not to overload your quad to the point it would effect the stability and safety of the quad. THe rear rack is rated for 180lbs (I think it is). I have had almost 400 lbs on it with nothing breaking or bending. I drove slow and it was harder to handle but no damage occured.
there are more than one thing to consider when manufacturers put ratings on something.
just my thoughts.

whats a symtec controller? and where'd you get the stick stoppers?</end quote></div>
Not sure if you were directing that question to me but I'll answer it for ya...A Symtec controller is a small controller that allows you to run multiple heating devices such as heated grips, thumb warmer, vest heated, and seat heater and have them run independent heat settings of eachother...The one I have is only made for heated grips and thumb warmer and has 5 heat settings....You can run the grips at a higher or lower heat setting than the thumb warmer...So mine only runs 2 devices but they make ones that control 4...If you look in my gallery I have a pic of mine mounted on my left handlebar......I got my Kit at Cabela's
As for my stick stoppers I got them here...
