Do you think the 800 is too big for my daughter

depends on her age and size wheather a wheeler is too big or not. she is the one whos going to be pushing the throttle and how fast it will go. since most all the sportsmans are the same size and close to weight it might be more if shes strong enough to handle it. imo.

Personally I think the Polaris is too big for most humans, I think its just too big period........ But I suppose if she is an adult and can ride I guess Polaris feels its not too big.

Like has been said hard to say without more info about your daugther age, size experience, how and where she will be riding ect ect. Also hard to say wihtout knowing wy you are asking..do you want out opinion on whether it is safe to let here ride yours? Or are you thinking of a machine of her own?
It might not be "too big" or unsafe but I will say that for the average adult female the 800 is not the best choice IMO..
The seat on that class of Sportsman is pretty wide up front, depending on her height that might or might not be a problem. I know alot of women ride the 500..
The steering at low speeds it pretty tough, especially on the heavier 800. Women generally have alot less upperbody strength that a comparable sized man..even the tough ones..sorry ladies, I'm not sexist, that is just the biomechanics of it.
My wife is on the smaller side but she has alot of ATV riding experience. She could manage the 800 just fine but was it the most comfortable and enjoyable for here..not really. If I were going to suggest a Polaris utility for a female it would be an XP hands down..JMO

The most important thing besides experience is the ability to control the weight of the machine. If you can counter balance it then it's fine for you, but if you can't you should think about a lighter quad. Power steering is great for not wearing a person out with steering effort or for protecting wrists when you hit an obstruction at high speeds. But, it still doesn't help you sliding around corners or off camber situations. That is where your weight will be the deciding factor.

Agree with Moose, my wife rides a 500 Touring and handles it fine except when hitting large rocks and such. Power steering would be a big help since most women don't have the upper body strenth to keep the bars under control when hitting objects.

My wife is very happy and comfortable driving her 550XP. Seems like a good fit .... yes it is heavy but unless she was on a 300lb bike or less I don't think it really matters.
