I put a set of aftermarket bars on my warrior and the two knurled areas are wider than the clamps on the quad. But as long as the bars are even side to side the clamps will grab some of the knurl.I have had no problems with my bars moving after jumps or crashes. Also when the new bars were on the plastic piece that holds the reverse & neutral lights wouldn't fit(interfered with the crossbar) so I left it off. I then drilled a hole in back side(facing rider) of each headlight and mounted the indicator lights in them. looks totally factory.

You should get renthals they are great design and are hard to bend and you can keep your reverse and neutral light plastic on .

Stock YZ250 bars should fit and sit 1 in lower than your stock. They are not the greatest bars, but it is a good cheap way of trying out a different bend. (I paid $50 Cdn. for mine) great thing is if you bend them then you just undo the cross bar and they straigten real easy.
