I found a 2000 400EX for $3500 or a 2000 Recon for $3000. Is that a fair price? The Recon has had only five tanks of gas run through it.

 

I sold my 2000 Recon for $2800. And that was like brand new. I would say the 2000 400ex is a btter buy. Do your homework, you can get great deals out there. I found my 2001 300ex, used only a few times, for only $3500. Now that was a great deal!

 

If the 400EX is not ragged out that is the better deal. The Recon at $3000 is only $499 below MSRP, the 400EX is a couple of thousand below MSRP. Have a mechanic look at the 400EX that price seems to good.
