HELP!!
I trail ride and ride open fields, I like to pop wheelies, and race with friends sometimes. I have a modded 400ex right now and I want to get a 450 or 500. Which one should I get?

 

imo you already have the machine for that......but if your looking for a 450 i think the new yfz450r is nice. my buddy traded in his standard yfz450 for the R and it has alot more low end grunt then the standard which is nice for woods riding.

 

Take a look at the honda 450 i had an 07 and it had tons of low end torque!!!!! It did have some upgrades, but very mild ones. The reliability of this bike was amazing!!! I now now have an LT450r (2 actually) and its a great machine too. The yfz i have noticed is terrible in the reliability department i have friends with them and they are always in the shop.

 

the yzf450 is a nice choice if you can find the BB racing edition!!!!! the predator runs strong but resell is not so good. 450r is one hadies of a bike. outside of that you might as well stick with your ex

 

Well, this is the Honda forum, so I have to say the Honda. You go to the other forums, and you will no doubt get a brand biased result wherever you go....

For me I ride desert, and the Honda is the king of desert endurance racing (you know, start it up and ride 1,000 miles non-stop), so that is why I go with the Honda. If you aren't on a Honda (quad or dirt bike) you probably won't finish the race much less win, so this is a real easy choice. The R can go the distance!!!
