Default 87' 250x. Doesn't run, Need help

Need help. My son was riding his 87' 250x when he hear a loud pop! Now it is completely bound. Don't want to force it over if something let go.

Can anyone help me onto where to start?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

So the crankshaft is completely frozen and won't turn either direction? Was he doing anything unusual when this happened?

Thanks for the fast reply!
He states that he in 3rd throttling up. But I'm sure he had it pegged! Maybe he has just out grown.

If its totally locked up, I suppose its going to need to be disassembled to see what happened... Hopefully it didn't drop a valve or something.

Motor is now on bench, just pulled top end cover off. Found there was no oil going to the top of motor. The cam and follower assemble was dry and now smoked.
Thanks
Rob

Man, that's too bad.

Sounds to me like a good excuse to go shopping for a 400ex...

That's a fast bike that will last your son forever. Needs many oil changes but will run forever. You need to be sure your son can handle it.

Weighing out all my options. I just would like to purchase one he will grow into. Not have to upgrade every yr or so. Enjoy the Honda's for there for there reliability.
