Hi,
I'm getting a new black ds650 soon and I read somewhere I think it was in dirtwheels that they said the stock tires on the ds donot have good traction. I was wondering if you can give a recommendation on what would be the most reliable and durable tire that I can buy that would get rid of the traction problem and what size would you recommend ( for front and rear) and also what is the strongest and reliable rim that you can buy and what size for the tire that you recommend. Thanks for your info.

dsdunster,What kind of riding?I'm thinking seriously of ordering 6-ply Razors for rear, since I ride on rocky trails, MX park track, hard pack terrain, little mud conditions. The stock tires were worn out after aprox 65/70 hours.
Anyone else have a suggestion for these conditions?

I smoked 20" 4-ply razrs quicker than the dominators (< 3 months weekend only riding). They hooked up pretty good when new, but didn't hold up very long. Hard surfaces eat them up quickly.

I have a set of 21" mud sharks, I don't look for mud holes but here in ohio there mud alot of the times. This tire gives me good traction in all conditions. Holding up pretty well so far.

Look for a similar topic (Though more related to sand tires) which I created for more info. I have ITP Holeshot XCTs on the rear of my LT250R, and I plan to put the same 22" XCTs on the rear with 23" XCs on the front. I ride in basic desert, some hard some soft a little of this and that. It's the california desert dry and dusty.

I have a set of realtors 22" on my DS,on 10"rims,I think there pretty good for all conditions. Also I can still power slide around, just got to keep the rpms up a little higher than with my 22"hole shots.Plus they give me alot more traction when racing.Still have stocks on front.
