WOLVERINE OR GRIZZLY?
#1
THINKING ABOUT A NEW GRIZ OR WOLV,I DO A LOT OF DIFFERENT DRIVING AND MY BIG BEAR HANDLES THE TASK WELL EXCEPT FOR A LACK OF TOP END.I WAS WONDERING IF THE WIEGHT OF THE GRIZ IS A FACTOR IN TIGHT TRAILS OR ON JUMPS?DOES THE WOLVERINE REALLY KEEP UP WITH THE GRIZ OR IS THAT DEALER BS? I AM SURE THAT ITS FASTER THAN THE BEAR BUT HOW MUCH?WHEELIES?JUMPING?PLOWING?

i was in the exact same position as you one year ago. i ended up buying the grizzly and have been so glad that i didn't go with the wolverine. i can keep up with my buddy's wolverine on tight trails because its a little top heavy (as is the grizz) and i have selectable 2 wheel drive so i can flick that thing around all through trails. the grizzly is definitely a more exciting bike to drive, and more comfortable for me (i'm 6'2", 250 lbs). for most people, the wolverine is easier to jump and the suspension is designed a little better for that style of riding. I have no problem getting good air on my grizz, but i can manhandle and manipulate the bike in the air, where as my smaller friends are stuck with a bad landing after a bad start. wheelies i can walk for about fifty yards, after that it gets hard to hold a balance point from the gain of speed. after driving my grizz for a year, if i could go back and do it all over again i would buy it over the wolverine even if the wolverine was 2k less.

I have raced my Grizzly against a wolverine in a wide open field and it was pretty close the whole way, but my Grizz was in front. Although I weigh 250 and the wolverine rider weighed about 170 so if we switched it probably would have been more of a lead. Also, my Grizz is new and has not yet broken in so its unlikely that in an open field a wolverine would ever keep up.
However, in trails or almost any other situation, a wolverine will be more nimble and lighter than a Grizzly so the wolverine will most likely be in the lead. I've never riden a wolverine but I hate the feel of sitting on one, being a big guy. The Grizzly is more cumfy.
As for jumps, I have been warned that it is a bad idea to do much jumping with a Grizz due to its weight and stiff suspension. I do little ones and have no trouble but a wolverine is definately the way to go if you like junping.
Plowing, both can plow, obviously a Grizz will push more snow but a wolverine will probably do OK as well.
I wanted a wolverine at first but picked the Grizz for reliability, power, and simplicity of an automatic. And I'm glad I did, but thats just me.
Good luck!

Well, I haven't driven the Grizzly but I own a Wolverine. I can't really compare the 2 because I don't know anyone who owns one in my area.. Theres no doubt that its stronger than the Wolv. but depending on your height and size it differs in which one would be suited for you. I'm 5'9 and weigh roughly 178 lbs. and I like the size of the Wolverine. I sat on the Griz and its a frigin Jeep. The thing is huge and I wouldn't even consider trying to lift the monster.. As for top speeds on both, I would say that there probably evenly matched but I do run larger tires which may make a difference on mine. I guess its just a matter of hopping aboard bother of them and seeing which one you prefer. If you want more of a sporty look and feel the wolv. would suit you better. If your more into hard work and more HP than the Griz.
Its a toss up but I like my wolv. The Griz would be to big for my liking, especially in some of the narrower trails..
Just my opion, I like both machines..
