So many choices...

So, my son has turned 7 y.o. and his sister has now laid claim to his 50cc Gio that he has ridden since age 4. It is time to move him up to something larger, but I still want to control his speed, especially with a heavier bike. A local garage is selling ZMC 110cc CVT transmission bikes for ~$1000 plus tax, but I want to know if the forum members here have any suggestions. I have seen many brands out there such as ZStar, Yamoto, Kazuma etc. I don't like the GIO 110cc bikes - I want more of a sport style than a utility style. Price wise I would like to cap it at around $1200.
All input is appreciated.

agreed! I would deffinatly go that way over a chinese quad..now i really have nothing against china stuff but if you cant work on them dont buy them, all the china dealers around me have closed up . I got a feeling the china craze is coming to a end! somewhere along the way parts are gonna be a problem I got a feeling.

I recommend looking at a BMS 110. It has a three speed wet clutch tow heal shifter with reverse and throttle limiter. My kids have been ridding BMS (Boreem Motor Sports) for a couple years. It’s an American company located out of California. The fit and finish on their ATV’s was surprising while the price is what your looking for. If you want to keep the kid slow don’t allow them out of 1st gear. For doing more technical stuff having a 1st gear on something that small really helps get over the rocks and up hills much better than the CVT transmissions. I have never had any problems with this makers kid ATV’s.
On a side note, I never intended to buy an “off” brand, not even for my kids, but after seeing their product I changed my mind and have been extremely happy. You should check out their web sight. This company has been around for a while and I don’t think they are going anywhere.
