Default trailblazer / scrambler throttle housing

Is the etc (electronic throttle control) really needed. I want to upgrade the throttles on my quads and wondering if i can get away without having that plugged in? does anyone else have a aftermarket throttle on there trailblazer or scrambler? Im guessing if its not that big of a deal any throttle control that will work with a mikuni carb should work right??

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
