Question 2000 Scrambler 500 4x4 not engaging?

Hi I have a 2000 Polaris 500 scrambler 4x4 and this is my other problem. The hubs will not engage. I have had them apart a bought 10 times and everything looks good in regarding to the manual. I just can’t find out what the Holmes of the magnet coils should be in my manual? Is it possible that the rings that grab on the magnets are holding residual magnetism? And not grabbing as strongly as they need to? I am as a loss with this one I think.

Is your scrambler equipped with a speedometer? If the speedo knocks out you lose AWD.

I don’t believe this scrambler has a speedometer. How would I tell if it was supposed to have one? I am getting voltage at the coils and the little plates that stick to the magnets are grabbing. But it still is not engaging. Everything looks to be moving freely.

I think only the Canadian models came with speedos. When you tighten the castle nut,you can not go beyond 12ft/lbs torque. Did you use correct type and amount of hub fluid?

I didn’t tighten them that tight I just put them tight by hand. I am using the proper hub oil and I’m fining them to 4 o clock. I will try to tighten them up to 12 foot pound and see it that helps.

Manuals says ,to the last castle nut notch ,but "can not exceed" 144in-lb.
