Default Leaning toward Jetmoto Alpine 110cc

I am leaning toward buying this quad for my son. I like that it is CVT with reverse and has the foot brake. I feel he is still a little young for a shifter.

Any experience out there with this bike?

I don't believe it has a CVT (belt drive) trans like the 150 unless its something new on the market. I had a 90cc Baja with one of those (built in 2 stage) auto trans and it worked good, it was ok for beginners. However the bottom end power(torque) was low. ON a big hill for example you would power out before spinning out. Now the 110 it may be better. On mostly flat ground type stuff it work just fine.

Welcome to the forum Chrome_71!

Like Sawyer said the 110 isnt a CVT tranny. As far as I know only the 110 deluxe has reverse and it has a shift lever on the left side. While these are a decent mini atv for the money. It will need a bit of prep time to make sure it stays together. Blue loctite on a couple dozen bolts and new oil before starting it. Do that and it should last a while....dont do that and you may curse the day you bought it. (This statement goes for ANY ATV made in China)

Thanks for the replies...I should have mentioned that we have had a 50cc GIO for 4 years that we have had pretty good luck with. And yes, I plan to put some time into getting it ready i.e. loctite, new plug, new oil etc. He will mostly be riding in pretty flat field and yard, so 110cc seems like a good size. I would love to hear from anyone who has bought one of these bikes.

Also If it is not CVT, then what does this refer to?
ENGINE
4 STROKE CVT AIR COOLED
TRANSMISSION
FULLY AUTOMATIC W/REVERSE.

I am not sure but Id guess the CVT part a misprint, or bad translation

They are not CVT FOR SURE.... they are basically in a gear all the time, you get good low end & top end, but there is no belt & does not "change" gearing while driving.

Like was said earlier. There are Two different models. One with reverse, one without.

The one without(ALPINE ATV 110CC):
ALPINE ATV RENEGADE 110CC - J2549110

And The one with reverse(ALPINE ATV 110CC DELUXE):
ALPINE ATV 110CC DELUXE - J2549146

I bought a pink one(the one without reverse) for my five year old little girl earlier this month. I had to set the throttle govenor as low as it can go or else she can just go way to fast. It can still go aroud 10mph with the throttle govennor set all the way in, which I think is a bit to fast for her skill level, but not a big deal. As for the quad itself... Well you really get what you pay for, so you can't expect Yamaha or Honda quality. For a young beginner, they are perfect IMHO. Because I expect her to beat it up, and trash it just learning how to ride. It could really use a MUCH, MUCH softer suspension as she has rolled the thing alread once, on perfectly flat ground going no more than 5mph. Well I guess not rolled, but flipped it onto it's side, thank God she didn't have enough speed for it to continue over. The battery also will no longer hold a charge.

Now just yesterday we went out for a ride, and the rear brake stuck. I have no idea why. We were going along, and I thought at first she was just going slow. Then wen she couldn't keep up at all, I had her get off, and lifted up the rear and gave it some throttle, when I let off the rear wheel stopped instantly. It was a good thing we werent far from home and that I had a rope with me in so that case it died we could get it home, as we can't start it because of the crappy battery. So I pulled her back to the house.

Other than those minor issues, it is a decent enough quad for anyone under 8-10 just learning how to ride. One other possitive to these things, is that the parts are pretty cheap, unless you start looking at the "performance" stuff.

I plan on starting my own thread for the issues I have had on mine. So that I don't hijack yours.

Hope my information has helped out some.

Have you ever walked around your house & seen what is made in China...about 90% of EVERYTHING has some part that was made in China if not the whole thing.... one of the most advanced phones in the world..the Iphone... yep made in China... with Chinese ATVS you just want to be sure you buy the best brand out there with the most customer support after the sale, you are looking at the right machine manufacturer, just make sure you buy from a good dealer now.

Thanks for the replies so far. Snyper sorry to hear of your problems, definitely something to keep in mind. Also, Spliffy, thanks - sounds like Jetmoto is not a bad choice in your opinion.

One other option I just discovered - Gio has a 110cc and 125cc bikes that seem pretty similar and well-equipped. Price is a little higher though. Decisions, decisions...
