Recently burned up my cam and bearing and was wondering what the heck is going on I didnt see any clogs in the passages or in the screen on the side... oil level was low but was wondering before I put this back together if there is any way to check the oil pump.I really dont want to replace the pump if I dont have to and really dont even want to go there, not to mention buy another new cam..

If you take the pump out you can take it apart and inspect it. Looking in the manual it says to check for scuffs or scrapes. It also gives some clearances to check. They are as follows - rotor to cover clearance .006 - .008, rotor tip clearance .006, and rotor to body clearance .012 - .014. Also check to make sure the o-rings under the pump are good and replace with new. There is also a little rubber ball with a tit between the top half of the head and the lower half on the right hand side. It controls oil flow so make sure it is still there and in good shape.
Hope this helps!
