I noticed rattling on my 800, sounded like a shield or something, but the exhaust pipe is hitting the motor just before the two pipes join. I was wondering if anyone else has had this trouble? The same day i blew my belt apart. I have read that a broken motor mount might cause the belt to blow. I was wondering if it could be my exhaust trouble also? I check the mounts and they look good. Any help would be great.

 

did you check the front mount to see if the rubber has separated? maybe take a bar and pry or pull up a little on it carefully to see if there all good. alot of belt problems were caused by thee broken mounts. imo

 

well i found my problem, the pipe is cracked where it joins into one pipe, letting the pipe sag and hit the motor

 

i have heard of a few cases where the pipe broke at the joint but not very many.

 

I had the same rattle on my new 06sp800 when I took it to the dealer they told me the pipe had a bad bend from the factory and they replaced under warranty. I only heard the rattle at a certin RPM.
