Hello,

I have an 07 Predator with an aftermartet intake and foam filter. I recently added a carb mounted choke becuae of the above listed problem. Seemed to start better off the front end but when its fully choked the RPM's dont kick up and I know they should. Any insight as to why this is happening or what I can do about it? I have backed out the fuel/air mixture screw and that has done nothing. Really frustrating that you have to sit there and baby sit it when starting to go for a ride. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

 

on polaris bikes w/ the choke/enrichner most of them will increase the rpms a little until it starts to warm up then if the choke isnt pushed in it will flood itself out. it is putting more gas in the starter circuit while on choke. it pulls a plunger up to allow more gas to flow in as to why it raises the rpms a little, but doesnt take long to start to flood out this way. if its a butterfly style choke then no it wouldnt raise the rpms. imo

 

As stated above.
it would be nice if they did have a step up on the throttle so when You,say,pushed the choke in like 1/2 way it would still stay above an idle for a nice warmup until the choke was pushed in all the way.

 

Yeah that irritates me why wont my RPM's hang at a higer leven until warmed up? This new choke I got locks in the fully open position where as the first original stock one would just creep in while you trying to start an never fully stay open. Is there anything I could try to rectify my problem and get the bike to hang at a higher RPM? Thanks

 

If it creeps in .......Turn the rubber around the choke to tighten it.......
If the choke don't stay out ..just tighten this rubber at the base......Caper.........

 

Mine will run at a higher rpm if the choke is only part way out. It only chokes if you haver the cable pulled out all the way. In the winter it is needed to get it to fire.

 

I don't have that option of having it only part way out with the new carb mounted choke. The new choke locks in the full choke position. This is the reason I bought the new one so I didn't have to mess around with keeping the old one pulled out and having it just creep in when trying to start. What else can I try to get my RPM's to kick up when I am choking it?

 

if it doesnt do it w/ the choke i cant imagin anything else working. imo
