Sportsman 600 engine rough
#1
I'm trying to find out if my 600's engine has some issues with it. I've ridden a 99 Sportsman 500 and an 03 700efi, and both of those engines are considerably smoother than mine. I haven't found another Sportsman 600 for comparison. My 600 has great power, starts and idles great, sounds perfectly normal, but has a lot more vibration than the other machines I've ridden. It's definitely a vibration from the engine because it is there when I rev in neutral. Any other 600 owners notice this? My machine is a 2004 model with 600 miles and 160 hours.

After doing a little research, it seems I may have a problem related to the clutching. The machine is somewhat tough to shift when running, and it will slightly creep on concrete. Some issues could be misaligned clutches, worn belt, or worn EBS bushing. Any other thoughts on the problem?

Yeah yeah yeah, I know I should have kept the scrammy. It just didn't suit my needs. I really needed a machine I could plow with and putz around my farm on. I'm starting to get back into trail riding, so I may be looking into getting a 500 scrambler for my wife.
