Question 06 Hawkeye - Loss of power

My wife's 06 Hawkeye has a loss of power when running up hills, it seems to run like the choke is on. I have found some different threads on mods, I would like to know which one would be appropriate for her situation.

Does it need:
rejetting?
slide drilled?
Top airbox drilled?

Just confused.

you may want to see if that bike is due for the carb updates by having a dealer run the viv# and tell them what its doing. just an idea.

What altitude are you at when it looses power? Mine starts to die 6,000 - 6,500 ft.
Air filter or fuel filter might be plugged. Is the gas old/stale?

I trimmed the intake on the snorkel tube back by about 1 inch and opened up the outlet that goes into the air box ( the snorkel tube and airbox holes match up ). Just that little bit of extra air flow helped mine alot. P.S. I run high altitude 5300+ ft.
