Koplin 50cc (disable gov/rev limiter)
#1
Help, i have a 50cc Koplin that i would like to get full throttle out of. I have adjusted the throttle limiter but something is still governoring the bike. Not sure if the CDI is holding it back, if any one has any ideas on how to disable it would be appreciated.
thanks

i have found out there are a few different types of speed limiters. The throttle ones you have already taken care of, also air flow restrictors and even a spacer in the carb that limits the effect of the throttle(you can have full throttle on the actual throttle but not on the actual engine). Check you air filter to see if there is an air restrictor plate first, if not then check the carb slide to make sure there isn't a spacer limiting the travel, then if you have to buy a cdi without rev limiter they are about 80$ in canada

As mentioned in previous thread the 50cc i have was a simple jet change and some minor air cleaner mods (breathe) was all it needed. I thought it had governor or speed limiter but they restricted the power with less fuel (smaller jet). I increased the jet size **** allow more fuel and modified the breather so it could get more air and it cam alive. hope this helps.
