Default Backfiring through the carb.

I bought a Jetmoto Renegade 110 from Raceway for my son for Christmas. It has been a great quad and he has really enjoyed riding it.
A couple weeks ago he was riding it with no problems. This week when I tried to start it, it wouldn't. Full choke and a little throttle and all it would do is backfire through the carb.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Brian

Don't know anything about this quad, is it a 4 or 2 stroke. I suppose if it is a 2 stroke it could be the reeds, if a 4 stroke could be the timing jumped.

It is a four stroke. Any ideas where the timing marks might be?

Could be time for a valve clearance check and adjustment.
Remember the old adage "noisy valves are happy valves"--meaning that it is better to have too much clearance ("loose valves") than to little ("tight valves").

Do you have strong spark? Try easy things first..change the plug to a NGK C7HSA I really doubt its actual timing, its near impossible for it to jump, but it could be that you broke the key in the magneto & its sparking at the wrong time... deffinently could be tight valves too, although the 110's aren't as common for needing adjustment like the smaller cc machines. Check your air filter for any type of obstruction also.

Spark is good, timing is correct, air filter is off... still wont start. Need to get an angled feeler gauge to set the valves.
