How many miles do you have on your Polaris and have you had any problems with it?

I have a 08 SP800 with 670 miles. Rear cracked rotor that's it.

800 miles complete rebuild on the front diff. water pump seal and harness plug on the map sensor.

 

Just over 1600 miles on my 08 - 800 no problems yet. Put over 10000 miles on my old 04 - 500....

 

I have over 6000 miles on my 03 Predator. Maintenance items have been my only issues. Chain, sprockets, ball joints, brakes...I did have to replace the thermal sensor switch..and a couple of wheel hubs. But I love my machine.

My dad has two 02 Sportsman 500's. One has over 6000, one over 7000. Same things really, maintenance and wear items. Checking the ball joints on these things has to be one of the most important things you can do, IMO. There is NO recourse if one breaks out in the woods...we found that out the hard way. He does a the speedo problem that is common, and that is one of the few things that really is aggravating. Running the 4wd through it, just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I found a way to wire it so it still works, without the speedo though. My dad doesn't go fast enough to need a speedo..lol

I like Polaris, and always recommend them.

 

NBsportsman & 400x that what I like to hear! I am sure keeping it stock helps also.

 

When my dad first got his, it had bigger tires on it. The extra strain on the machine due to them, plus the terrain we rode, led us to more problems. He has since went back to stock size tires and we have less problems with cv joints and suspension type issues.

The only things I've changed on my pred, are bigger tires and lower gearing. I still run a stock muffler and have plenty of power. Stock seems to be fine for me.

 

Had 3-1999 Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4's, complete motor rebuilds at 10,000 miles, 1st over pistons, only one needed counter balancer. Now '07 800 X2 with 2200 miles and '00 Ranger 6x6 with normal maintenance on both, clutches rebuilt and cleaned, tie rod ends, struts on Ranger

 

That is awesome! Got a guy I ride with has an 07 machine with 7600 miles that alot of riding in two years!! original belt and spark plug.

 

i had a 00 335 sportsman. just had handwamers since day one. the a few yrs later i added a 1500 winch. the issues i had with it were: in the first 6 months i had the temp sensor go out. it was a warranty repair. the a yr later the hall: speed sensor whent out. then after about the 3rd yr of owning it. i started to have cv boots in the rear go out. first it was 1 or 2 a yr. then after that i was replacing about 4 a yr. just for the fact i heard it was sitting for to long, and rotted the boots. the first 3yrs it didnt sit more than a few hrs. it had 5000 miles on it in about 4yrs. but then i had to move. and barly put 300 miles on a yr. when i sold it it had 7000 miles and 600hrs. no engine issues or anything else. just cv boots. it was a pretty good atv. oh i had to have a new needle and seat put in along with valve adjustment. and replace the battery at the 7yr mark. and a new belt at the 8yr mark before i sold it last yr.

my new 08 500 sp. in the 1st 5monthes i had to have a new battery and a starter solinoid installed, and warrantyed. i had minor issues with the fuel level sensor. iv got about 400miles on it. and will be going on a 400mile trip soon befor the exstended warranty runs out.
