I have the opportunity to pick up from a boat dealership going out of business some Polaris PS4 oil. Question is...... Does the PS 4 compar to the PS 4 Plus I use now. He has 4 1 gal jugs for 15.00 a gal, less then ½ the price I would pay for it regally. He is holding it for me until Tuesday. Any comments?

The PS4 Plus is a 2w-50 vs. 0w-50 you get with the PS4. For 99% of the applications out there, I can't see an issue. I do know the 850xp owner's manual calls for 2w-50 and mentions the importance of using that weight a few times. Who knows if it really makes a difference.

I used the PS-4 Plus in my Predator and asked the dealership why they did away with the PS-4? He told me it was not worth the time/money to have different types and this being synthetic means that if you used anything else you will just be running a higher quality oil. He also said Polaris spent a lot of time on there oil and felt it was one of the best out there. He might be biased as its his dealership but generally a good knowledgeable guy so I don't doubt he is BSing me.
