im looking at getting a quad, i want a 250r or a yfz450. whats a better machine, whats faster, whats more reliable, i also heard that you can make the 250r relly fast with minor mods, and also it has amazing handeling. so whats a better choice?

 

While I love the old R, I would not purchase one as my main ride. As a "project" garage queen fine, but not for every day....they are just to old. To many things can go wrong with a 20 year old quad.

Now, if Honda still offered a crate engine (they don't) and you could find a new aftermarket frame and build up a completely new quad, then I would be all over it, but I don't think that is going to happen....

So, I would go with the YFZ. It will give you years of trouble free riding if you keep up on the maintenance!
