Default 09 Tail lights-AARGH!

So I got this 25% off coupon from POPO for accessories and decided to pick up a few things. Got a rear light kit($20 for a switch and two bulbs) and never noticed my 09 800 had solid red rear lenses. Checked at the dealer and found that some brain surgeon at POPO decided to put just the red lenses on the 09's and it's like $50 for the right lenses with sockets for the rear light kit. Luckily, my dealer totally rocks and they swapped me for a set off a non-current 08.

Also, make sure to check any bolt-on accessories that work on 09's and older to make sure the hardware is correct. The longer bolts supplied for the left handguard that screws into the master cylinder bracket is standard thread and it takes a 6mmx70mm 1.0 pitch bolt. They must have missed that when switching the 09's to all metric hardware. I already fired an email off to POPO.

Default Lights

All the wiring is there(at least they did that) so that's what makes no sense at all.

well im quessing that polaris figured out since eveyone is adding there own switches and bulbs. they thought well lets change the taillights so if they want the work lights they have to buy the taillights also. but i noticed there all red awhile ago. i quess it really dont bother me. but its kida dumb they did that. i looked at a parts list for the 800 and 500 theres 2 diffenrt taillights for it. pre july 08 and after july 08. so im guessing the 08 had the worklight taillights and the 09 models had the all red tailights.

The XP's have red tail lights also, but the LE and browning models have the white lenses, lights, and wiring.
