problems starting help please

Hi
I have a 03 raptor. it was working fine but today the starter started acting up. It has a hard time turing over. I makes loud noises and like a clunk/snap. and I hear it clicking the starter relay. I make sure the the clutch handle is all the way in when trying to start.
I think the starter is done. But could my one way clutch be going? and that might be why the starter is done?
thanks for the help

sounds like the one way clutch is about done, its common on the raptors there poorly designed, replace it with a LA one way and you should be good...a sheared keyway is another possibility but most likely its the one way clutch.

checked the starter. it works fine when nut under load. when I put it all back together its still doing it.
I was looking at one way clutches on ebay. some kit come with a gear and some don't. witch would i need if it is the one way?
also will it hurt anything if i keep driving it?
thanks

that extra 52 tooth gear is an option just incase your old one got messed up from the one way going out, yours should be fine most likely, this is what im talking about LA Designs, Raptor one way, Yamaha Raptor 660 starter Clutch, LL Extreme the majority of raptor 660 riders use L&A one ways its a common part to poop out, and the L&A will last 4ever plus its a lifetime warranty, make sure first that it is indeed the one way needing to be replaced before you get it, but to me it seems like thats the problem.
