Default 2000 Yamaha Grizzly 600 Electical/Starting Problem?

First off I put a snorkel on my bike and ran it and from the minute i started it up the oil temp light came on but I ran the bike anyway... But here is my main questions... Ok here is what happend to cause this problem... I went through a mud hole that was about 1ft - 1.5ft deep... After I came out of the hole I noticed my started was engaging and disengaging on its own... It did that a few times and it stop... So on my way back through the hole I went kind of slow through the hole and when I got out and stop the bike to wait for a friend to come back through it my bike quit... Now when I try to start the bike all the light on the bike dim but the started doesnt even try to engage... I am thinking it has to be a short or something of that nature... I let the bike dry and tried it again and still nothing... Mudfest is this weekend and I really want to get it fixed by then... Has anyone had a simular problem or know where to start to try and fix this problem... If you need anymore info please let me know... This is high on the priority list right now due to this coming weekend... Any help is appriciated

Fist thing I would do is clean the bike and take the wiring plugs loose and look for any water in them. Then you need to trace the wiring down for the starter to cee if theres any problem there. trying to engage a starter while the engine is runing can cause some damage to the starter and engage gear. Could have also blown a fuse or damages a relay.

If you plan to go deep in mud and water be sure to dielectric grease your electrical connections
