I recently bought my son a 2001 polris sportsman 90. i have beed having problems with throttle coming and going . Acceleration is spurratic at best.
i have pulled carb jetts out and cleaned. Cleaned the bowl. And i have cleaned the stator some what. i am getting spark. evan changed the gas and refilled.
Can anybody give me any pointers before i sink a boat load in this machine.

The major problems with the 90's IF carb and fuel system clean,AND compression is good is shorts in the safety switch (tethered) shorting out,Just find the two wires going to the switch and tieing them together and see if this is the problem. If not then would check stator specs, as this is the most common problem on the 90. Mud,water,heat and open access to elements cause stators to short out, causing erratic running and then no spark eventually. I've changed two in about the last month!
