Boggs at start up?
#1
I have a 2006 Redcat VX150 and I find that it really boggs on acceleration from a stop. Top end seems to feel ok. I will be replacing the spark plug and air filter this weekend. I will also be replacing the ignition coil because it looks really dry rotted and everytime my son goes through water the quad dies so I am starting with the basics. What's your opinion on the CDI could that possibly be a problem being that it controls the timing?
Thanks for any help.

I would take it apart and clean it.. no kit necessary just some carb cleaner and some compressed air will take care of it..Carb will need to be disassembled and you need to be careful not to get any carb cleaner on any rubber parts.

Thank you so much for the advice. I took apart the carb and found the jets and needle full of green build up. Cleaned it all up and reinstalled. Wow! what a difference and it didn't cost me more then $4.00 in Carb cleaner. Thank you again for the help.

Definitely corrosion! I know that the quad was stored in a shed for a year and a half with gas sitting in it. I'm in the car business and have owned almost a dozen motorcycles. It was the worst I've ever seen in a carb. These chinese quads dont exactly use the best quality material.
