Question Is This A Good Deal for '09 Sportsman 500 X2

Hi All
Was wondering if this is a good deal or not:

2009 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI X2 – MSRP $8,299.00
Polaris Rebate - ($500.00)
Discount from Dealer - ($100.00)

Total $7,699.00

Glacier II Plow, Mount, Frame & Polaris 2,500 LB Winch - $500.00 (Incl. Install)

Grand Total OTD - $8,199.00

The dealer isn’t really giving me a big discount, just a good deal on the plow package. Is there wiggle room in the ATV prices, or do these things sell pretty close to MSRP?

Any comments appreciated.

It depends on the service dept. A well stocked service dept with trained personnel costs money, a poor one does not. Try to see the garage area. Lots of machines waiting for parts, or room for yours and repairs moving out the door?.

Point being I would pay retail for a good dealer.

09 500 X2's are running $7400 out here. I just had a friend that picked up a brand new 08 700 X2 for $7200. It may be worth your time to make a couple of calls and see if there are any 08 700's left in your area, that is if you want a little more machine for your money. I don't know on the plow pricing as I have a JD 650G for clearing my driveway.

The place where I got my 850 XP in Auburn, CA is selling 2008 500 X2's for $7499 out the door, and 2009's for $7999 out the door. So, I'd say you're pretty close at $8199 out the door. California sales tax is 9.25% so you can do the math and figure out what the actual machine cost is... oh that and registration is $52, doc fee is $45.

If you're not too far from CA, you could save some $$ by getting a 2008.

do a survey by calling or asking all the other dealers out there. compare and benchmark the prices. i guess that's what we basically when we buy and make a good investment.

Sounds like a fair deal. I had to get them upset at me to get them down back in 2006. Economy was different then. I got mine for $7299 if my memory serves me right. They wouldn't install the free winch for me for that price.

Thanks for all the replys.

I finally came across what I think is a really good deal for a new '09 500 X2. My only concern is that the manufacture date on the machine is 12/9/08. Is this something that I should be concerned with, seeing that this machine has been sitting around all this time? Other places that I was looking at had manufacture dates of 5/09. Any other things to look out for, seeing that the machine is almost 1 year old? Comments appreciated. Thanks

The machine should be fine. It's probably only been sitting around for 8 months or so. No big deal there. It's a great (heavy and heavy duty) machine that is the most versatile quad out there.
