Foreman 500 Power Question
#1
I have a 2007 Foreman 500. I have a lot of fun on it every time I ride, but I find myself really wishing I had more power. For those that have ridden 700's,800's, sport bikes, etc... is it really that big of a difference? I would hate to trade/sell mine and spend more money only to find out its not really that big a deal to have more power.
My 500 gets me through/over almost everything I ask it to. I just wish it had better throttle response. I would love to be able to blip the throttle and have the front end come up easily. Althought that could be a bad thing on hill climbs.

Have you done the basic mods like air intake, aftermarket exhaust, and a rejet??? Might perk it up some???? But, the Foreman is afterall a basic pure utility "work" quad......so don't expect it to ever be a fire breathing dragon.
Keep the Foreman for technical riding, and get yourself a 450R sport quad and go have some "real" fun!!!!

The Foreman I think is intended to be rock solid reliable. I find it fun on the trail, but power is adequate, and not at all thrilling.
Most other brands of 500's will be more powerful. If you really want a rush of power from a utility, you should probably be looking at twin piston jobs like the big Outlander, the Brute Force, Thundercat, or maybe the 850 Polaris.
If you live in an area were there are riding areas suitable for sport quads, a 450R, or even a 400ex might be fun.

Even if you just picked any other 500 ATV made you would of be more happy if power is your thing. The Foreman 500 is the only 500 Utility that makes under 30 hp (27HP) due to it being a low reving OHV motor, the rest are higher reving OHC and make between 32-40hp. When I ride my friends 500 Foreman it cant even break the rear wheels loose to throttle steer, its just a dog in comparison.

Well, I made a big trade today. I traded my Foreman for a 2006 KFX 700 and a 2006 Suzuki Eiger 400 4x4. I plan on selling the eiger for $2k. I think I might already have a buyer. The 700 is a beast. It hits hard and all the way through the powerband. I will have to get some softer springs though because its a bit rough over bumps.
