Im thinking about buying a coolhead for my Banshee. Now to the questions, what is a safe dome to run?

Currently I have FMF SST pipes/silencers with 290 mains/30 pilots, K&N filter w/box off, thats the only engine mods.

Im in North Central, TX so elevation is at sea level I guess. Would I need to rejet with the addition of the coolhead? And what color am I looking for in my plug. Right now the bike runs hard from bottom to top with a brownish plug color.

Thanks for any info!

Hope you are still planning on going to Snake Hunt. I have some buds that run about the same setup that you do w/CoolHead. I will ask what cc dome they are using..

I have 22's right now but am changing to 21's. Still running pump gas. Would you be interested in a set of V-Force reeds and cages? I bought a set before finding out what would be involved in using them with a Stage IV setup like a dummy. So I was going to take them back but i'd have to pay the restocking fee on them. I got a good deal on them and could make you a good deal. They are supposed to be the bomb setup for a banshee next to putting pipes on! Let me know I was going to take them back today.

Thanks for the offer Jen but im just going with the coolheads right now.

So would I have to rejet at all with these or just run the same? I was thinking about going with the 21cc domes.

i'd go with some 19's. i got them on my '96 banshee, and it has always run hard, i don't think u'll see much difference in compression with 22's or 21's.

I hope that you are buying the cool head for improved looks, not just performance. The stock head can be milled by local auto machine shops for less than $30. I had mine done and only paid $15. Had them take off .030". I had Paul Turner Hi-Rev pipes & a pro-flow uni air filter set-up. Everything else was stock, including reeds. I went from 290 main jets to 320 mains just for the head mod. Mine ran really good, tried 330's didn't work. Modifications increase performance by improving the air/fuel mixture or the amount of air/fuel getting to the cylinders for higher volumetric efficiency.

I'd have to agree with Daren420 Jiga. The performance gains aren't much, but it looks good. You can check with whoever you buy the head from and they should be able to give you an idea of which domes you need to run. That's the only reason I offered the reeds is because for less money you will notice more performance from the reeds than the head. My dad went from a milled head to a coolhead and could tell no real difference other than the money he spent on it. If you buy one be sure to always wipe out around the plug hole before you completely take it out or you'll have stuff falling down in the hole. I guess i'm done ranting for now. You still going saturday even though it's supposed to rain.
